Darla grew up with her grandfather’s made up on the spot creative oral stories which helped her grow her love of writing. She began to write poems and a children’s book with her own amateur illustrations in sixth grade. Whiling away her youth with her nose always in a book, she chose to read Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys. She always tried to avoid doing math in school because she’s terrible at it.
She is a collector of horse knickknacks, tea, notebooks, and pens. While she’s writing, she drinks a lot of one of her two favorite beverages: Earl Grey or English Breakfast tea. When she’s not coming up with new story ideas, she reads, listens to music, plays with her cats, tries new recipes, and watches comedy and horror movies.
Darla lives in Toledo, OH with her husband and 2 perfectly spoiled cats.
